I’m 26 year old Jannaya LaFrance and I’m running for State House Representative so that our community has a voice that can actually be heard at the State Capitol.  My campaign was launched in December 2008 and made it official in March 2009 when I registered with the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board for House district 35B which includes the following cities/townships:  Savage, Jordan, New Market/Elko, Credit River Twp, Spring Lake Twp and Sand Creek Twp.

I am running for office because our area is suffering as a result of education cuts, property tax increases, job losses, small businesses going under, a record number of foreclosures, budget deficits and a broken health care system.

I believe it is time for a change in our district.  Under the supervision of our current 6 term representative, all of the above has happened in our area.  I believe that with a fresh new face and new ideas, we can change our district for the better.  Current lawmakers are looking for areas where they can cut the budget all of the time.  Instead of always looking to cut something, I believe that we should be creating.   With the help of the citizens in my district I will bring fresh new creative options to the table that would generate jobs and tax revenue for our district so that we can stop the lack of funding for our kids education, property tax increases and foreclosures that are devastating our district and state.

I am running because I believe in our community; I believe our voices should be heard.  But I can’t do this alone. With your support we can win this election together.  When I am elected, I will not be traveling to our State’s Capitol alone; you will all be coming with me every day of the legislative session.  I am not Wall Street. I am Main Street, just like you.  Isn’t it time to elect someone who is just like you?
